A surprise morning email invitation to join the Risca Industrial History Society group on a winter walk along the canal from Ridgeway. I was expecting a couple of deliveries so managed to stay home long enough to receive them then legged it through the murk and mist to Newport, only a few minutes late and the group were waiting for a few stragglers like me. A couple of hours pleasurable walking and chatting and we finished at the Café on Ridgeway for hot chocolate (and cake) in one of their natty pods (designed for six I believe but we got ten in ours!). After that home for a quick doze before settling down for the evening in front of the TV, catching up with Shrek Ever After and Alice Through The Looking Glass.
