A time for everything

Fourth Sunday in Advent

We enjoyed a wonderful morning service, with lovely music provided by the handbells, choir and Praise Band. It was a sunny morning, and I always love how the sun illuminates the Nativity stained glass window at the front of the church. The message was given by Brian, our assistant pastor. He is younger than David, and is concerned largely with events reaching out to the community, and doesn’t present the message very often, usually being the service leader and leading the prayers and announcements. He was originally trained as a Mechanical Engineer, and came into the ministry later, and has a different preaching style to David, and we always enjoy his messages.
After service the choir and significant others were invited to the beautiful home of Sue and her husband for a potluck lunch. Unfortunately there were several who had other commitments, but we had about 12 or 14 of us so it was still very nice.
Following that, it was time to head home and make some mince pies, and fix a meal ready for Laura and Liam’s arrival around 8pm.
