Baddesley Clinton National Trust……
……..Elizabethan moated Manor House,
Stephen drove us to Baddesley Clinton this morning in order to see the house decorated for Christmas.
It was another eerily misty beginning but visibility on the drive there was not bad.
The fields and trees were shrouded in mist along the way.
It was very busy in the car park when we arrived and we managed to secure a table for two in the very full restaurant to have a coffee and a warming bowl of apple and parsnip soup with a wedge of bread.
The server told Stephen they would probably serve a 1000 people by the end of the day! They opened at 9;00am. The manor house was open from 11:00am on timed tickets.
We booked ours for 1.00pm.
As I have no extras until the New Year, I will post some photos of the beautifully decorated rooms as back blips beginning tomorrow.
The tickets were timed so the house itself wasn’t crowded with plenty of time to linger in each room both on the ground and first floors.
Volunteers were on hand to answer questions and provide some historical background if needed.
Good to see whole families there with young and older children.
There is so much history to assimilate.
Following that we had a walk around the grounds.
We set off for home around 3:15 pm.as the light was already fading and more mist filling in the fields and woods.
By the time we were nearer home we used our fog lights as well.
Now writing my blip in cosy warmth,
8 weeks today since I had my operation!
Now I won’t mention it again, but will be steadily making sure that I continue to make progress.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
