CHRISTMAS DAY
on catch up after a few crazy fun filled days.
The Rev and I are so grateful to be seeing another Christmas as this year we’ve both been hit with serious health issues.
# The Rev was on duty at the hospital and did several ward rounds.
# He also had the Salvation Army in playing in the woods and he said it went down very well. The staff and patients enjoyed the sing along.
# P and I went to the hospice to serve Christmas dinners again. It was her first year but she was excellent at getting stuck in. My memory this year is of a lady whose mother was taken in at lunchtime. She just wanted a glass of wine and someone to chat to it was nice to feel we made a difference. The Rev joined us halfway through service to help out.
## we collected Dan and went up to mum’s for our usual Christmas Day buffet. Mum had done a lot of the sorting ( and purchasing) but J & D had got there early and took on all the cooking and serving up. We had a lovely time opening a few presents and playing a silly game. I was lucky with a new jumper, trainers and pink overalls with matching pink hard hat for our DIY project.
It was a lovely day of togetherness. Always grateful for these times.
