Tradition
Seldom have I cooked a turkey at Christmas in last 35vyears in Germany. The German Christmas meal is on Christmas Eve and for around a third of Germans, it's humble sausages eith potato salad or mash and sauerkraut.
At around 5am popped the turkey in a slow roaster crock and then for the last 15 minutes, into a tray in the oven. It was perfect. Together with roast pots, bread sauce, gravy and cauliflower, turned out delicious.
Freezing cold all day, literally despite the wonderful sunshine and was -7⁰C overnight.
