93 Today

It's MrQ's 93rd birthday. Very unusually for us we've had a quiet day. The tradition has always been for a big roast beef meal for family and friends on this day.

My grandson bought me a lovely bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne for Christmas. MrQ and I have shared it. (We didn't get it from a pretty cabinet and of course we pronounce it to rhyme with that item of furniture.)

MrQ is holding a caricature of himself done by somebody he met on a gig.
I've never liked it, though it is expertly done.

Twenty years ago we heard of the terrible Boxing Day tsunami while the family and our neighbours were listening to MrQ and the band play at The Globe in Hackney.
