Fell off a Nikau

I found this behind the top of the retaining wall. When all the berries have either been eaten or dropped off the flower stalk, The Nikau separates the flower stalk and it falls to the ground

One of the many ducks in the area, came to visit this morning. S says that it is unlikely that there are any purely mallard, or purely Parera, and certinly this one has a mixture of mallard and Parera characteristics. It is the first extra for today.
