Winter Tracery

Felt a bit out of sorts most of this grey, cold day. Better now, Julia home from work, the men clearing the kitchen, a good meal partaken of, and a bath and bed on the horizon.

These trees on our way into Sutton Town centre, enjoyed the bookshop, but found nothing to wear - really need something decent for the next few days.

Finished another book, translated from the Japanese, What you are looking for is in the library, by Michiko Aoyama. (Reminded me of our Japanese neighbours, growing up in Maués, in the Brazilian Amazon; she was called Dona Michiko Sakyama.) A lovely read, gentle, thought provoking stories of five very different people, whose lives are transformed after their encounters with an enigmatic librarian who asks them, "What are you looking for?"

Mary's Voice: There was also a prophet, Anna... she was very old... a widow after seven years of marriage... Coming up to them at that very moment (after Simeon had spoken), she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Israel. (Luke 2v36-38)
A woman who knew suffering encouraging the young Mum who had just been told a sword would pierce her soul.

If you have time, an article that spoke to the way I, and maybe you, are feeling at this moment.
