Princess and Paddington Bear
Did you notice that it was a minute lighter this morning? Me neither. It was still dark at 8:30 and Princess my Avocado plant was looking resplendent in her garland of fairy lights when I phoned my youngest grandchild in Glasgow this morning to wish him a happy 11th birthday. Ewan had been awake since 7am but was patient enough not to waken the family and waited until 8 to get up. He hadn't yet opened his presents.
It was just about light but grey and drizzly as I left to go into town to meet my school friend for our monthly coffee at the Ivy. The restaurant was busy with lots of hefty looking breakfasts being devoured which meant that our abstemious toast and marmalade was not a priority on the service front but it did come eventually. Gifts were exchanged , some technical problems with the Ivy app were explored at length and school news pondered on before we left to look for Paddington Bear who has taken up residence in St Andrew Square Gardens. We found him with a horde of visitors trying to get selfies with him.
A lot of my afternoon has been trying to make sense of the altered bus timetables for tomorrow’s dip at Porty. I refuse to give in to the inconveniences of the diverted route for the #26 bus. Why is it not going along Princes Street while the #19 bus is scheduled to do just that?
