Lloyds Bank’s iconic building…
I had to call in today to ask them to set up a standing order. I don’t understand why the system allows me to changes dates, amounts etc but if I want to make it repeat monthly I need to go into the branch for them to do it. But it’s the only way to get it done so in I went. Actually I should have been more organised because I did exactly the same thing last week to for another recipient. And the conversation went very much the same both times…
Firstly; ah this is a new recipient to which I replied that I had been paying it for years. The lady said she couldn’t understand why it wasn’t showing and pondered it for ages. Today I could speed up that bit by saying that I had the same last week. Then she said the name was showing up as not matching to which I replied that exactly the same happened when I first paid to this recipient and the money had reached them so all should be well. I don’t understand why in that situation they don’t check their records to confirm it is the correct one but no doubt they have a good reason why not.
After all that I had to reward myself with an iced latte and a bacon, brie and cranberry baguette which more than made up for wasting a quarter of hour I can never get back.
And to add insult to injury my hand which has been suffering from the biting wind decided to start bleeding while I was waiting for my baguette. I managed to keep it out of sight until I left Mocca with my goodies but by the time I walked the short distance home the baguette bag was covered in blood which somehow didn’t made it look too appetising. But once I did the posh thing and put it on a plate all was well!
