Christmas Curry Club

A mixed start to the day with a bit of a lie-in, followed by some present wrapping, followed by a biblical b*ll*ck*ng of the wee ones for let’s say: some disappointing behaviour.

Eventually we moved past it and had some lunch before I dropped them off with their grandparents and headed off down to a semi-costumed rehearsal (extras). The production is running close to the wire anyway, but with my father dropping out the timeline feels even more contracted.

Fortunately, his replacement; Ethan (extras - the chap in red) seems to possess the ability to learn lines as quickly as I can demolish a bag of Haribo. He’d already learned his first scene and had started putting his own spin on the character. Very impressive and I think that it put all of us at our ease that we might just make it!

I was touched by the enquiries of my father’s health from the cast with lots of hugs, kind words and love sent in his direction via me.

Following rehearsal I collected the children for a brief relax and change of clothes as it was our annual Christmas Curry Club this evening and we were pleased to find that my parents were both able to join us.

The food was absolutely delicious and the conversation sparkling as we each gave our nominations for:-

Hero of the year
Villain of the year
Worst moment of the year
Sportsperson/Celebrity of the year
Best moment of the year

There were some excellent suggestions both within and without the family and to spare someone’s blushes I shall keep the nominations for Worst moment of the year for the ears of those at the table (and The Eldest who had done a postal vote).

Great end to the weekend and finally starting to get some Christmas Tingles breaking through!
