Look At This Old Faded Photograph...

When I was little, every time we drove down the Ayrshire Coast, heading past Girvan towards Ballantrae, my dad would shout out, "Look Out, there's Sawny Bean's Cave, and we would all glance over to the left and squeal with excitement and fear.

Years later, when Boy was playing football in Girvan, Tooli and I took a wander down to the waters edge, and followed the signs to Sawny Bean's cave; it was quite steep, and we were clinging on to each other while slipping down the grass.

As we neared the bottom, we could see the cave... but we were too scared to go any closer and both started to scream and scramble back up the hill. On one of our slips, Tooli's foot uncovered something. We looked at it...in utter horror. It looked exactly like a thigh bone.

Sawny Bean was still at it....
