Battered
Intrepid as ever, we got a no 36 bus across to Stockbridge and went to the market there to locate the blessed Dolly and her pies! Bought a selection and she also gave us a wee packet of her own tablet (cardamom flavoured) which turned out to be brilliant.
Then we went up to the Dean Gardens for a stroll about and watched a dipper having a very busy time of it diving, swimming and no doubt eating in what must have been a perishingly cold Water of Leith. Amazing little birds - no chance of a photo, of course, it was moving much too fast! Noticed a camellia that was already in bloom, and a couple of patches of cyclamen (extra), which Allan loved so much.
When we got back to the Shore we were startled to see the state of the bus stop (as was the driver - think it must have been very recent). The pole has rusted at a point above dog pee level and I guess the wind must have finished it off!
