The nativity scene

There was no bellringing this morning as our church is shut now until mid January as most people are away. Instead, we climbed to the top of the village to attend the Catholic service. I was very impressed with their nativity scene which, in the tradition of southern France and Catalonia, incorporates all the local trades people and others. The figures in the south of France are called ‘santons’. We also went up to a friends’ house and filled up the automatic cat feeder and delivered some coffee that they had ordered in bulk.
