Day11; too many cooks
We’re up early this morning - relatively speaking. It means we’re first into the restaurant for breakfast. Dan’s on his way to pick Anniemay up to go shopping for a turkey.
Although he’s lived in Goa for more than 10 years now and his tastebuds have acclimatised accordingly, he still hankers after a traditional Christmas dinner, Mum style. And so this is what he - with a bit of help from Anniemay and Elvis the Baker - is trying to achieve.
From what I hear, it’s a complex process - .involving a couple of Elvis’ portable ovens and digging a pit in the garden. But first they have to find the turkey.
In the meantime, I’m having a quiet day, reading by the pool. I’ll only be in the way.
Besides which - I need it. Last night Varnika’s mum and auntie produced a feast. Forget your local take-away. Or M&S Best Ever …This was the real deal. The dishes kept coming - try a little bit of this and a little bit of that …. it all adds up in the end.
