Day 12: Taxi window shopping
The main street, in what passes for a town around here, runs parallel to the beach. The beach itself, is about 500m away, accessible through a network of footpaths running through a mix of huts and palm trees. See extra.
It’s pretty busy in the day time - chaos at night. The road is wide enough for two cars to pass - providing they tuck their wing mirrors in. Those foolish enough to walk, have to dodge the scooters, motorbikes, taxis and cars. Of which there are many.
At night it’s a riot of colour. Many of the shops stay open late, hoping to catch the tourists making their way back to their hotels, having spent the evening in the beach side bars, cafes, and restaurants. Or just sitting in the dark, listening to the ocean.
