Oh dearie me! Just when I thought I was over the cold I woke around 3 am with a nose pouring from the front and blocked at the back. I slept propped up until 6 then gave up, went downstairs and started the Olbas steaming, the hot drink, multiple use of tissues and hand sanitizer routine.

I messaged Miss Flum to advise not to come round today and she suggested taking a COVID test - we didn't think it necessary but did so and it was negative - it's just a nasty common cold, best treated as usual with plenty of fluids and rest.

I'm so cross as I had plans to prepare for these few days before Christmas but will just have to sit tight - what doesn't get done, doesn't get done.
