From Rishton looking towards Church.
The Feast Day of Saint Urban V. 1300s.
It is a beautiful dry, dazzlingly sunny, very cold Thursday here in Rishton Blackburn. 3c but feels like minus 2.
I have been for a walk and captured the photo I have posted, looking across the fields and countryside from Rishton to Church and Oswaldtwistle, the centre of the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Church is behind those trees on the right of the photo. There were a few dog walkers about, with dogs snuggly wrapped in dog coats.
Now that we have posted our Christmas cards and bought the presents, it is time to plan the Christmas meals.
We don't go in for extreme extravagance and we don't eat meat or turkey. Salmon will be the Christmas highlight, with the usual trimmings. A Christmas pudding is one of our favourite things, fresh fruit, and a selection of cheese. Trying to avoid weight gain is the impossible aim too!!
It is not surprising that there are no Tesco delivery slots available for our area, until the Saturday after Christmas Day.
If the weather stays okay, Paul will drive to our Tesco in Great Harwood. There is also a good Morrisons there, a Lidl and Aldi.
The rest of today I aim to catch up on some reading. I have several Kindle and Audible books needing my attention.
I hope you have a good day and keep warm.
I am very disappointed about the decision concerning the W.A.S.P.I. women. It is a crying shame such unfair inequalities and lack of kindness and concern do exist in 2024. I believe the Lord watches over all of us and acts with Justice, so perhaps we are still waiting for fairness to happen.
Thank you for visiting my site blip friends.
