A quick lunch before a walk and a shop. 
Troubles still with my Bt freeview player (hoping it's not the TV). Have now ordered a Manhattan freeview recorder hoping that I'll understand how to set it up and use it. We were watching Ludwig which I'd recorded but Bt freeview was all going wrong and getting stuck. I'm sure if I manage to work out how to use this Manhattan thing that I'll find Ludwig somewhere to re-record as we were really enjoying it. 
Also, I had a recording of my all time favourite 'The Kidnappers' but I've now sent for a dvd of that on ebay so that's not so drastic.
