Fun in the Sun

This is a very small sunflower (only a couple of feet tall) that has grown from a discarded seed under the bird feeder. If they grow like this we usually leave them in the hope that they will grow big and the birds can help themselves for free but they never seem to get much bigger than this and rarely grow any seeds. I'm more than happy to leave this one because it seems much prettier than the others that have grown before and has been really popular with the insects as you can see. Very strange weather today, nice and sunny this morning but cooler with a lovely breeze. A large thunderstorm early afternoon with torrential rain and now sunshine again, I'm very relieved it's a bit cooler now :-))

I back blipped yesterday if you are interested :-)
