Errands in the City

TUESDAY

I spent a couple of hours painting the wall in the living room that had been affected by the roof leak earlier this year (which, thankfully, is now fixed). It looks OK, but I think it could probably do with another coat to make it look absolutely perfect.

Early afternoon I drove down to the city to pick up the ironing, buy some stamps, and post a few dozen Christmas cards. St Asaph, which is just 3 1/2 miles away as the crow flies, has a population of less than 3,500, and has more of a village feel. You wouldn't guess it was a city.

Today would have been my Dad’s birthday, so I stopped off at the Cathedral to light a candle and say a prayer. It’s always a quiet, peaceful place to reflect and remember.

Late afternoon, I finished the Christmas wreath I’d been working on, so that’s now hanging on the front door. I also polished a bit more of Harriet’s car—it’s sitting in the garage while they’re touring New Zealand.

I still have to put the finishing touches to the Christmas tree.
