Auditorium
Santa Cecilia Christmas Juniorchestra kids and teens concert.
It may be a bad photo, but the images in my head are good and the music itself, recorded on my phone is wonderful.
There were four orchestras in all, for kids ranging from 7 to 18 years old. Our Titch, 16,
was in the older group.
This modern auditorium has the strangest shapes prodruding from the walls that are evidently designed to create perfect accoustics.
I recorded some of it on my elderly, not very smart phone and the quality is surprisingly good.
From the little kids to the older ones, the level of playing was fantastic to my ears and they were having so much fun.
The last piece involved all the musicians of all ages. There must have been hundreds of them, many sitting in the gallery above the orchestra, where choirs usually are. They played a very lively version of jingle bells and even the audience joined in with clapping.
Lucky kids to be a part of all this energy and joy, although they work very hard to get there.
I admire all involved. As my SIL said, it is a pity that more younsters aren't able to be involved in music instead of doing nothing or making trouble.
After the exitement, I slept quite well last night.
