Sleepy Kitten (Not Our Cat!)
There was a big winter storm coming, and so of course, LGK, the cat who lives a few houses down from us, came to spend the day with us. He showed up in the morning as I was getting ready for my walk. He rolled on the driveway and demanded pettings. Of course, I obliged. You'd think he lives here.
LGK paw-pawed nervously on the front porch and watched and listened as my husband rode his bike over and talked to the lady next door about her chickens. (His news: a fox tried to get her chickens a Sunday or two ago, while she was away, but the lady has trail cams, and so she already knew this.)
What LGK really wants more than anything is for my husband to sit down on the front porch and provide a LAP. So by the time I got back from my walk, LGK was simply exhausted with the waiting. I found him sitting by the front door, not unlike some sort of furry gargoyle, nearly succumbing to the nap that was threatening to overtake him.
I am happy to report that shortly after this photo of a sleepy kitten was taken, my husband returned and provide said lap. And then, peace was restored to the neighborhood, and LGK broke out in fresh Zzzzz's. Mission accomplished!
The snow, by the way, arrived later in the day, and it continued into the night, providing us with a couple of fresh inches of rather soggy, damp, heavy snow. Now it looks like Narnia here. I promise you'll get to see pictures tomorrow!
I wanted something like a lullaby for my soundtrack song, and here's a sort of dark one that I am willing to bet you've never heard. Here are Jamey Johnson, Twiggy Ramirez, and Shooter Jennings (yes, son of THAT Jennings), with You Are My Sunshine. A lullaby for a snowy day and a sleeping kitten. Oh, and no, this is NOT our cat!
