2nd time is almost a charm

I wanted to experiment with almond flour shortbread. Yesterday I used my regular recipe and added the same amount of butter called for with regular flour.. Ugh! I forgot how much natural oil is in almond flour. They were really inedible. Today I looked up an actual almond flour shortbread recipe. I wanted to do cocoa powder and orange extract in it. I bought some new almond flour and sadly, I think it tastes stale. I thought the cookies might taste all right but I can still taste that it's off. I think I need to cut back on the cocoa too. I have a Solstice party to go to next Saturday and I really want some good cookies that I can eat to take.
