The Red Tail wins...
Believe it or not, I had options for my blip today!
It was either the red-tailed hawk or the confused delivery men.... hmmmm..let me think...The majestic or the absurd....
I just had to go with the hawk... First of all he is SO awesome...and I appreciate the consideration he shows for us amateur birdwatchers who often struggle to identify what we are looking at! Like... A red bellied woodpecker whose belly isn't very red?..or a yellow-bellied sapsucker whose belly isn't very yellow?...yikes...But a red-tailed hawk? It's like he wears a name tag on his tail! and says "Here..look ..guess what I am!" What's not to like?
The confused delivery men? What's so special about confused men at work? Not an uncommon sight.
These guys, however, were particularly entertaining... ( see extra)
A delivery truck pulls up in front of my house..Great! My new book has arrived! Nope, apparently not. Driver gets out and shuffles about in the back of the van, looking as if he can't find what he needs. Then another van arrives - perhaps the first driver has called for back-up? There are two vans now..and two confused drivers fussing about in the back of that van...Parcels come out and are left on the ground; much consultation ensues..but to no end..eventually, parcels are put back in the van and off they go? What?... Nothing delivered? I do hope my book was not the item in question!
Meanwhile, I had a lovely day spent chatting with my old friend Pat who arrived from the east coast last night. Diane and Elaine - my two neighbours also dropped by to see her, so it was a really social day..which I do not have often these days! We will do a repeat tomorrow and then sadly, she will fly home.
So it has been a very "red-letter" day... Maggie and I were most amused....Having company is such a treat.
PS: My book By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult arrived later..with no fuss..Amazon rules!
