Simply having a wonderful Christmas time…
Tree day. Picked up at Hillier's as the one in the village doesn’t seem to be operating this year. Also picked up a small one for Mum so that she can be festive. Gloriously sunny for a lot of the day with low winter light streaming in through windows.
Walked the dog down to the shop in the morning, put a few things on Vinted that got snapped up immediately but cheeringly also led to the sale of something that’s been up a while.
Went into One Tree books to buy some more cards for Mum who is tearing through them and found myself agreeing to attending the book club next month. Which meant I had to buy the book and not rely on kindle as I normally will but I will probably buy it again and read it on kindle. I am the author’s friend as I often buy things twice. I am currently reading Intermezzo and I have that as kindle book and audible.
Did some clearing in the garden and put lights on the little outside tree that has lived through the year quite neglected until I potted it on the other day. I like how the lights reflect the mosaic top but need to do something to cover the plastic rim. I think Ivy, plenty of that in the garden.
In the evening I cooked a Nigel Slater chicken and fennel dish and we watched cosy crime in front of the fire rather than The Substance that we’d promised ourselves to watch. So lazy
