Everyday Life

Moggypants!

I was knackered last night and slept very well! Even so, we weren't too late up today.

The Christmas shopping is now finished and the wrapping is all done. I sent out most of our cards today too. According to the leaflet from the Post Office, next Wednesday is the last second class posting day for  Christmas cards. According to some of the postal staff that visit the van, that is "optimistic"!

Many people no longer bother to send cards at all these days apparently. I saw something the other day in a trailer for the news. They were talking about how many fewer cards were being sent in the mail this year and wondering whether the price of stamps is part of the reason. I'd say it is. Plus, as anyone who uses the postal service regularly knows, the service is no longer what it used to be either. Of course we know that companies like Royal Mail have a duty to get the best possible return for their shareholders, as opposed to giving the best possible service to their customers. I think people sending greetings via social media also plays a part in the reduction of cards being sent of course...

So far we have received three!

I took this photo of Minstrel this morning and he can do Blip duty today. The light was lovely earlier and I should really have gone out to look for a Blip. By the time I got round to thinking about it, the clouds had rolled in and I decided against it!

We are going out to the local tonight as there is a band on that we like. I'm expecting the pub to be full of loud, drunken people who all know eachother well, with a sprinkling of people who only drink at this time of the year and cannot handle it.

I'm "ready" to go now - well, dressed for it at least! So I will bid you adieu and be back tomorrow!
