Blue skies ..

..and a tiny bud!
An amazing change this morning, cold but bright, non of that miserable murk of the last few days. I was encouraged to put a wash out and whilst in the garden took a look at this Hamamelis ( Witch Hazel) It has on occasion flowered before Christmas but only two tiny yellow buds could be spotted today. Good to know it’s coming though. The red flowering one is always much later.

This afternoon we were invited over to a festive drop in at one of our newer neighbours. Such a nice thing to do. We have had several younger families move in in recent years (we used to be the young ones!) So nice to get to know this younger generation, things move on but it’s hard not to think of those who used to live here before that we lived beside for many years and are no longer with us.

An evening in now with the Strictly final to come. Can’t say I can predict the outcome, it’s been a good year with some very good dancers but Chris McCausekand is very popular.
