An ordinary life....

Friday the 13th!

And all well :-))

D was up and off to play golf at Leven by 10am.  I was up and ready (painfree - yay!) as a friend was coming for coffee.  Alan was the electrician on our extension build in 2016 and we bonded over our love of art and absolute obsessive passion for Kate Bush! :-)  He and his partner Karl are very creative (the Christmas gift I bought for my friend Fiona who I visited yesterday was made by Karl) and I've purchased many (and been gifted a few) of Alan's fabulous creations.  When I saw he was about to fire 4 little pig vases in his kiln, I messaged him immediately asking to buy one.  My bestie Agnes is pigs mad and I knew she would absolutely love it.  And I know she loves Alan's work as she's also bought some of his ceramics previously.

The vase didn't disappoint.  It's so cute!  My photograph just doesn't do it justice.  It will also match her new living room decor so I am extra delighted with it.

It was lovely to catch up with Alan.  We enjoyed coffee and some Gloagburn gingerbread (think they've changed the recipe as it wasn't as soft and moist as it usually is) He and Karl have just adopted a little rescue Shih Tzu and are smitten.  Of course we spent a fair bit of time discussing Kate and our fervent hope she has at least one new album left in her.  We have everything crossed.

When Alan left I made lunch and despite being desperate to paint, decided to continue with a Christmas crochet project as wasn't sure my hip had recovered enough to cope with a three hour painting session sitting in my wheels.

Managed to get a chunk of my project done before D returned full of they joys of a great round of golf, which he won.

Spaghetti bolognaise for dinner (from the freezer so no hassle :-) then I looked out the rest of the gifts for Agnes and Adrian and got them wrapped, as we're seeing them tomorrow for the last time before Christmas.

David announced this was the start of his birthday weekend so poured himself a glass of red wine and me a Baileys.  We know how to live!  LOL!

Watched the semi-final of the Portrait Artist of the Year.  Don't agree with the finalist and know who should have won.  The judges really annoy me.  They bang on about likeness then choose an artist who hasn't captured a great likeness in any of his heats....all in pursuit of being "edgy."

I follow a the blog of an artist who critiques the show episode by episode.  Very insightful and I agree with everything she says.

Do not adjust your set...

A cold and frosty morning...

Don't tell Lola...
