Lake District Day 5 - Derwentwater East shore

We had a slow start of the day, not going out until later in the morning. We decided to go to the East shore of Derwentwater, to the Keswick boat landing and Friars Crag. This turned out to be a great choice! The whole place was so tranquil even though there were lots of people out, including quite a few dog owners. The conditions were amazing, with cloud after cloud rolling through the hills and giving the place a very ethereal and dreamy look. We had a chat with some dog owners and one of them said they come here very often and had never seen Derwentwater this way. We are just so lucky to be here this week!

Hot chocolate and coffee with cake at the Lakeside Cafe, before driving on to Stock Ghyll Force. I only captured the lower falls, partly because it would soon be dark, but also because I lost my balance while standing in the river, resulting in a gulf of water entering my wellies. Somehow I managed to keep my camera safe and get up really quickly, with only a part of my clothes getting wet. I could continue shooting and didn't even get cold.

Lots of other shots from Derwentwater in the extras, as well as two shots from the waterfall!
