Christmas at Doddington
Earlier in the year Brian and I decided to get passes for Doddington Hall and gardens, since it often has events that are good to visit. We made good use of them today by visiting the hall to see it all trimmed up for Christmas.
The theme this year is A Christmas Chorus, featuring seasonal songs of various types and theming the décor of each area to a particular song.
The place has been in the same family since the 1700's, and the current owners live in part of the building that is not open to the public. Something else I feel quite conflicted about, as I love being in the place!
I've added an extra of a child's toy. It seemed a bit creepy, as did some of the old paintings and tapestries. Many of the old toys would give kids today nightmares. The horse made me think of the Mari Lwyd, a Welsh tradition!
