The Happiest Critter I Met Today
It was raining again, or maybe just still. But it was rain that was heading toward snow, as temperatures were dropping all day. Long about lunchtime, my husband decided he had a hankering for a hoagie, so we took off for Port Matilda to grab a few.
He dropped me off at the post office so I could mail some things, then headed over to order our hoagies. From the post office, I walked to a tiny parklet just a hop, skip, and a jump from the red light. I wanted to see if I could find some ice, or maybe some reflection shots, like before.
There was no ice present, and as far as reflection shots, well, there was nothing at ALL like that because the water in Bald Eagle Creek was running high and muddy. It was actually overflowing its banks in spots, and I was not able to get close enough to the creek to get the shots I'd like; the water would have gone over my shoes.
So I did take a few photos, from under my umbrella, of the little park itself and the fine array of children's playground equipment that it offers. I wanted to show you a picture of the happiest critter I met on this day. You may see it in this photo: It is red and has eight legs!
In honor of my friend here, the soundtrack song for the day is ZZ Top, with Legs. I'm also adding Pharrell Williams, with Happy. The red critter's message is this: CHOOSE to be happy, even in the rain!
P.S. Thank you for the many lovely messages on my 13th blip-birthday!
