Batemans
The rain and grey clouds continued. We visited Rudyard Kipling's house, Batemans. Very friendly and knowledgeable room guides and lots of things to see. The exhibition space upstairs is being redone and currently has a exhibition of jungle book animal illustrations from two female watercolour artists.
Got beaten to the last table in the cafe by a very determined elderly lady who certainly didn't want to share a table for 4. Headed off for a walk around the estate instead. It was very very muddy with squelchy mud over the top of our boots and fallen trees. The cafe was quiet when we got back and we felt we deserved a cheese scone by that point.
