Double take

I got a bit of a surprise on the way home tonight to see this fox sitting in the middle of the pavement just between the bus stop and the pub. A crowd had gathered and were discussing it. It was obviously a rather sick fox as it seemed to have no interest in anything around and it barely moved. I continued on my way and left them all to it. I think someone had called the SSPCA.

That was my second “out of place” animal today. At lunchtime a grey wagtail was popping around on the pavement at the top of Leith Walk. It was a bit livelier than the fox but seemed totally unconcerned by my presence. (Extra)
