An ordinary life....

Kinkell Bridge...

Planned to go Gloagburn for lunch as I wanted to buy some food gifts from there to take as a gift when we visit a friend and her mum on Thursday, but when we got there the car park was absolutely overflowing so not wanting to queue ages for lunch, we headed into Perth instead and went to the cafe at Gillies' (yes the furniture store where we bought our new sofas has a rather lovely cafe on the top floor :-)

I had a very yummy toasted ciabatta with ham, Applewood smoked cheddar and plum chutney and salad, followed by a cherry scone.

From there we headed to M&S food hall but going up the ramp my wheels suddenly lost power!  Switched it off and on again and carried on but it happened again almost immediately. Very disconcerting!  Switched it on and off again and decided just to head to the car, which was parked close by.  It happened again when I tried to move a bit faster!  D uncoupled the power cable from the hand set then rejoined it and all seemed well.  Very odd.

Stopped at Gloagburn on our way home and had a wander in the shop.  Lots of lovely things but some of the prices really are ridiculous.  I picked up four things that I put back as soon as I saw the price.  Surely it would be better to reduce the price slightly and get sales.  Although some people must be willing to pay otherwise they would be reduced I suppose.

Anyhoo, got what we went for including a gift to finish off Ele's birthday gifts and some special treats and a toy for Lola's Christmas stocking.

Drove home the back road (as always.  Much nicer than bombing down the A9 :-) and the sun was just dipping behind Kinkell Bridge (built 1782!).  The River Earn is quite high.

Once home D took Lola out for a pavement walk and I went online to try and get the last of the online Christmas gifts bought.  That was successful.  Just checked my list and all the rest will be bought locally.  Wow!  Feeling quite organised famous last words.

Now about to make a mountain of Empire Biscuits.  The group David sings in have their last rehearsal of the year tomorrow evening and have asked if I would make them.  It's become a bit of a tradition!

After that homemade chicken Korma for dinner and some Christmas card writing unless of course I doze off first, which is highly likely!
