Gold and Silver
I’m with my sister in the cinema.
Were watching last years Christmas concert by Andre Rieu ( titled Gold and Silver and we’re looking for ourselves in the audience. We were there and I’ve already seen myself in the trailer on Andre’s social media.
We couldn’t discover ourselves on the big screen though.
But the concert was great and what’s even greater is that in two weeks from now we’ll be sitting in the audience once again! Andre Rieu’s Christmas concert 2024 in the MECC simply can not be missed.
During the break I posted a story on Instagram and tagged a few members of the orchestra.
By now (I’m typing this one day later) they all have responded with likes, hearts and comments. Pierre Rieu (the son of the maestro ) even sent me a nice text message. Made my day.
It’s been 5 years now since Andre Rieu has become such an important person in our lives.
Together with my parents we went to the first Christmas concert in Maastricht for their 60th wedding anniversary. Soon after that Covid came, dementia came and my parents both passed away. But Andre is here to stay, bringing back lots of memories of good times.
But besides that the concerts really are great and lots of fun.
Through the years I’ve been building up a few contacts with members of the orchestra and now even with Pierre.
I high-fived with Andre last summer.
Who knows what comes next. I somehow feel the urge to tell him about my family-story but I don’t know how to do that in a good way. Maybe I shouldn’t and is this what it is.
We’ll see.
So, for me the festive season has kicked off.
Tonight the concert movie, tomorrow I’ll be packing my stuff for a week in the UK with my photo mates. Destination Lake District.
I’m having a great times ahead this month.
