An Indoors day

So it's a pottery blip.   

I made this vase at mum's just over three weeks ago.  It's been blipped at the 'greenware' stage and again after bisque firing and now in all it's glory.   Yet another new glaze combination, one that has worked out very nicely :-)

I had a dreadful night's sleep, repeatedly very awake, every couple of hours.   Not due to the storm, just the virus that I picked up.   So it's been a very quiet day at home, mostly resting and doing computer based jobs ... so sitting down!    A couple of very short outings for Meg and I did cook myself a simple tea and a lemon cake for afters.  Appetite has been lacking during the last couple of days but I enjoyed my food tonight.  Hopefully a corner turned.

A little better news from London this evening.  Mum's visitors later in the day both found her able to take in and respond to simple conversation.  Her speech remains difficult but she was able to make herself understood.  Another little step.
