Kitchens, Kitchens...
... and more kitchens, but not as many as we thought!
We got out as early as possible to do a tour of kitchen suppliers in the area but, having got to a big dealer up in the city, we were so satisfied, with the range and Which rating of their quality and workmanship, that we booked a measuring-up visit and went home after lunch at Toby Carvery.
The kitchen units, electrical goods and new flooring are for the holiday lodge. The kitchen is 20 years old and the oven needs to be replaced, the fridge/freezer won't have the energy efficiency rating of modern ones. The worktops are starting to look worn.
The units were tarted up by us in lockdown. They had a plastic pictures of wood-grain on them which we peeled off and then hand-painted all the doors and drawer fronts. In Extras. Fingernails have chipped the paint and I can't find the specially mixed tin of paint.
If repainting was all that was needed we could save a lot of money but, the electricals and flooring are making a full refurb sensible. Let's see what desgn the man comes up with on Monday!
