Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2024 Friday — Date Night

On this first Friday evening of December . . . as we finished walking our two pups at Tidelands Park, we got back in the car, and I asked Mr. Fun to go on a dinner date with me. I didn't have to ask twice.

It's our 60th first Friday of December together. It's not our anniversary, no, just a day to celebrate. So that's what we did. Because our friends Elaine & Bob told us about having Cioppino at Sotto Mare in San Francisco last weekend, Mr. Fun decided to give it a try even though we weren't in the big city.

Someone might be asking what's Cioppino? That's what we were asking last weekend, when we decided to look up the story and history of this dish and found the answer very interesting.

So tonight he ordered it. Here's the ingredients of Cioppino (from the menu): San Francisco-style, 1/2 lobster tail, prawns, clams, green lip mussels, calamari, fresh catch, tomato broth, and served with garlic bread. He ate it all.

Looking at the bowl of empty shells can you guess which ingredient I helped him eat? Yes, the lobster! We had fun.

We looked at holiday lights as we exited Morro Bay. Then we came home and enjoyed the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring The Rockettes” on DVD.
