Again and Again

Brain Drain

I dropped Bob for MOT/service and walked to the office.

I had 2 calls on my way to the office from unwell team members. One of them has had quite a lot of time off this year and is anxious that their job is at risk.

A big part of the day was filled with interruptions about the forecasted storm as  various colleagues advised me initially that the park was likely, and then later that is was, closed for the weekend and that parkrun would be asked to cancel.  We were due to collect for the food bank and a new plan was  hastily put together.
The garage called to advise that my fog lamp wasn't working, that they couldn't source a replacement today and I had a 10 day window for a MOT retest.
A friend called me to say that she was about to send an email to advise that her post had been deleted from her employers structure and she was redundant/was leaving her job today after 23 years.
Angelique called me to ask if I'd drive her to the station after work.
Our auditors sent a report and incorrectly calculated invoice for the work done.
I liaised with a manager ahead of them taking a week off.
I supported a new team leader with lots of queries.
It did feel like several steps backwards by the end of the work day.

I went into the chip shop to ask if I'd dropped a glove there yesterday (no-it was in MrRius car which i used) and as I was leaving a stranger approached and said "you limp on your right leg". A very strange thing to say to someone in the street. My face must have given away my surprise as he added that he'd seen me walking in the morning.  I said i wasn't conscious that I did and thanked him for pointing it out. I'm not sure if how I process that information. Odd.

Co ED Bob dropped round and  I took delivery of the parkrun kit for next week. I dropped Angelique at the station. What a busy one.
