Skirting the issues...
A bit of an EB, because I've been indoors all day. You can probably work out what I've been doing for at least part of the day. But now my watch and phone have gone nuts, all sirens and flashing red alerts so we'd best get ready...
I have about six more of these lengths of skirting to paint yet... But yay! we have a working washing machine now! And the exterior lights are now all working, so we will be able to watch the garden take off tonight as Storm Darragh rips through the Bristol Channel.
I don't know whether the Met Office has issued a Red Alert this time because they didn't really give much notice for Storm Bert, which hit the West Country and South Wales quite hard the other week. Or maybe it's a really rough night we're in for tonight. We've done what we can to prepare.
And on that note, the Willow Tree has had an emergency intervention from the local authority, after we made clear our concerns. The contracted tree surgeon decided there were "elf and safety issues, innit", and deferred the drop into next week. Sad to lose the tree, but I bet the neighbours are happy.
See you on the flip side. Or, you know, not. ;-)
