Paced Walking, Mandela and Weathering Storms

I awoke at 5am, have had a very long but productive day.

Two online appointments done and dusted by 10am and over 12,000 steps for my paced walking fundraising challenge in aid of Alcohol Change UK.

I was delighted to receive my first donation this evening, £25 from an anonymous donor.

Did a small food shop, ran some errands and picked up prescriptions all as part of my paced walking.

I completed some of my steps late morning and then had a rest break followed by more steps late afternoon with plenty rests on benches. Feeling a great sense of accomplishment tonight.

The chest infection seems to be clearing slowly except for a persistent barking cough. The fresh air today felt amazing but the rain this afternoon was torrential, wicked!

Please see my extras for my steps count and a selfie of me undertaking one leg of my paced walk. Today’s main Blip photo was snapped in Dock Park, Dumfries.

Today is the eleventh anniversary of the death of Nelson Mandela, a man for whom I had much admiration and respect. It seems like only yesterday since I was sitting in a pub on a date when the news of his passing flashed up on the news channel.

Resting tonight with my heat pad, my fibromyalgia feeling it but it’s worth it to support Alcohol Change UK with their work.

If you would like to support my paced walking fundraiser, you can do so below, I would be grateful for your support:
