After a morning swim and sauna, Sarah and Chris took the dogs for a run up Glen Rosa, Luke and Maria went food shopping and I set off on the Fishermans Walk to Brodick Castle. The actual castle is closed to the public until April, but the grounds are always open and I love walking amongst the beautiful trees. It was so quiet out of season, too - only the gardeners and me. Here is a view through the gates given by the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton in 1931to mark their silver wedding anniversary . On the left is a huge cabbage tree and on the left is a beautiful variegated holly.
After lunch, the weather deteriorated, with rain and strong SE winds. All ferry sailings were cancelled, but should be ok tomorrow.
Waiting for the young folk to finish their cardgame so we can go back to the spa…
