Turnstone

One of the many turnstones, Arenaria interpres, currently foraging on the local beaches.

This one had just been bathing in the freezing water before hopping out onto this rock.  It makes me shiver just thinking about it.
The act of hopping out is captured in my 'extra'.

A turnstone is just a little larger than a sanderling (yesterday's blip).

Once again this is all taking place on the shore just along from the supermarket I use.
