Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

I see......

Tuesday, my first task was a meeting at the Rectory with another joiner and a fellow vestry member, J. He has just finished fitting her kitchen, but it became clear very quickly that he wasn't terribly interested in doing any work for us. The positive suggestions we had were shot down in flames and he ended by recommending we used one of the big kitchen fitting companies.... We still need to find someone else to quote though.
My blip is of some of the odds and ends accumulating on the room divider of the rectory kitchen. They are about the only things not screwed down that are still in the house!
From there, feeling rather disheartened I went to pick up my raffle prize and wondered what the voucher I'd won was, there are lots of small local businesses and shops in the area and most of them donated prizes.
When I got the envelope, I was delighted to find I'd won one of the star prizes, a voucher for £100 in Waitrose/John Lewis. I'm going to buy myself a treat!
This afternoon I had two hours in the charity shop. Tidying books, I like to arrange children's in order and they were a terrible muddle. They had lots of really high quality board books so I got a couple more! I don't need more board books. I'll blip them sometime soon and you'll see what I mean.
Next it was out to Costco, I drink Appletiser rather than any fizzy drinks, it's sparkling not fizzy if anyone fancies a quibble! Buying it at Costco means it costs less than half the shop price for a can. I wandered about taking tastes of nice samples and amongst other things picked up a large bottle of a soy based sauce recommended for stir fries, the sample tasted good so I thought I'd try it.
We've had a quiet evening, caught up on yesterday's quizzes but I wasn't really on the ball tonight, rather tired I by think. We've been invited to join a bridge team and join in some more competitive league matches. Haven't done that since before we had children.
