Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Stirred up

Clearly last Sunday was enough to motivate me after all. Today is the first Sunday of Advent so: we sang part of the Advent Prose; we lit the 1st candle on the Advent Crown and generally began the church's preparation for Christmas. Today is the first Sunday of the new Church Year.
When I got home I decided to make the Christmas puddings. I bought this beautiful Wedgewood mixing bowl in the Hospice Shop in Inverness when visiting my friend Gill, I love having memories attached to objects.
I had enough mix for three puddings. How can three puddings made from the same mix turn out so differently? I had a little taste of some of the edges as I turned them out, yum! Now I'm looking forward to having them at Christmas.
Ali and Stuart took Josie to see Santa at the zoo today. They decided to book an early date so it wasn't too busy. We buy memberships for the family for Christmas every year so they only had to pay for the Santa visit not to go into the zoo as well. Good but not as good as last year was the verdict.
Today started cold but warmed up as it went on, most of yesterday's snow had thawed by lunchtime thank goodness.
