New Light

Well, that’s one problem solved. New bulb for the oven purchased and fitted. I can see what I’m cooking now. Only cost me a fiver, and I got two bulbs for that price, so won’t be an issue next time it blows.
However, a new - and potentially more expensive - problem finally came to light today. I’d been hearing something sloshing around in the car for a while now but couldn’t pinpoint exactly where it was coming from. More detailed investigation this morning revealed that there was a considerable amount of water trapped between the inner and outer o/s rear wing in the space where the rear window retracts when the roof is lowered. This is what I could hear moving around when I put the brakes on but, how it got there and why it wouldn’t drain away remains a mystery. Blocked drain hole and/or faulty rear window seal seem the most likely explanations but fixing either of those is way above my pay grade.
Consequently, my car is now booked into the dealers next week for the issue to be “assessed”. The fact that they’ll need it for two days, just for the initial investigation, does not fill me with hope that it will be an easy - or cheap - fix…
