Chocolate

This is not just any old advent calendar - this is a Marks and Spencer advent calendar of treats!
Which I’d totally forgotten we had until Mrs C found it in the cupboard this morning. As we’re sharing it to avoid excessive sugar intake over the festive season, it didn’t really matter as it meant we could have a treat each today. In fact, we’ve decided to only open the doors every other day going forward so we continue in the same vein.
And there is a bag of chocolate buttons behind the door for Christmas Day, which we can also share.
Not a lot else done today, thanks to plans falling through at the last minute. Watching telly and dealing with emails was the order of the day, with the only excitement being when the oven went “bang” around teatime. This is something that has happened before around this time of year, so I immediately ordered a new heating element for delivery later this week.
At which point, I discovered it wasn’t the element that had gone pop, just the bulb in the main oven light. Maybe I should have reset the trip switch and tried the oven again first, before pressing “buy now” on eBay!
Oh well, it’s only twenty odd quid and it can’t hurt to have a spare element in the house. Because you can guarantee that if I cancelled the order, the heating element would probably go bang on Christmas morning!
