Grey day

Rain overnight which has continued on and off all day.  Dragged my heels this morning.....couldn't work out why there were so many bugs in the van but solved that problem when I went to leave around lunchtime and found the drivers window w-i-d-e open!!  Luckily the rain had come from the other direction so all was dry inside. Whew!  Drove a short way along the road to a spot I wanted to try to capture some coastal critters I've seen there before.  They're rock dwellers and as the tide was high there was nothing for it but to sit and wait and wait and wait and wait for the tide to recede.  By late afternoon I set off to the rocks that had begun to show but no sign of the wee critters...... then I remembered I'd read somewhere they tend to live at the low tide level.  As I headed back to the van to continue the long wait the rain started..... it didn't take me long to decide that I wasn't going to get my pic afterall.  Off the Greymouth to find an overnight park...... I'll try for the critters again on my return.

Here in Greymouth I'm parked at the mouth of the Grey River and it's still raining........ can't help but think that this is a very aptly named town.....
