Dipping the Tank

We are trying to be frugal with our use of heating oil this winter whilst we have two homes to heat. Fortunately down here we still have 22.5 inches in the tank which should be enough to see us through almost to the end of the winter months.
Meanwhile in Scotland the ancient Stanley stove is burning through oil at a startling rate heating the empty house and looks like it is going to need a lot of topping up. :-(
